snow day

We had about a foot of snow yesterday so everybody stayed home, including Dad! We had some great family fun and got some keepers for the family album. Our new puppy, Milo, also got in on the action and couldn't have been happier.

One of my all-time favorite photos was chosen as a Photo of the Day today at Shutterbugs. The photo of my friend's daughter was taken about a year ago. I just love how her personality shines through.

dreaming of those summer days

Today the temperature jumped into the 40s and it felt so good. It was the first time in months that I didn't triple layer before heading outdoors. The kids and I even took our puppy for a walk! Alas, it's heading back down to the 20s tomorrow and I'll be my miserable cold self again. In the meantime I'm just going to continue looking over my summer photos to help me brave the last two months of winter. Below is one of my favorite images of my three kiddos and their dirty summertime feet. The image was chosen as a Photo of the Day today on Shutterbugs.

BP finalist!

I was just notified that one of my favorite images of my little boy (who just turned 4 yesterday) has placed as a finalist in this month's BetterPhoto Contest. Over 19,400 photos were entered into the competition, so it's quite an honor to have my image selected among the top 440 finalist photos. The photo was taken last summer at a local pond.

Photo of the Day

The last few months have been a whirlwind of photo sessions. While I love all my new clients and have been thrilled with the word-of-mouth business that they are bringing me, I have had little time for one of my favorite activities: competing in online photo contests. I did enter one last week though and it was chosen as Photo of the Day on the Shutterbugs website. The image, titled "Gone Fishin'," was taken last summer at a local fishing pond.

Senior girls are, by far, one of my favorite subjects. I love spending the extra time getting to know these young girls and capturing their unique personalities. Below are a few images from a senior order I am finishing up for one special young lady.
